About the course

Future Learn e-Learning platform offers a free online course as an introduction to digital content design.




This course allows the student to understand the main concepts of designing effective targeted content for the user, and to develop his skills and self-confidence to be able to design accessible content, provided that it is supported by user research and written in plain and simple English.

The learner will also learn about the role of the content designer, learn the value of user trip mapping, content prototyping, and how to use data to continuously improve and duplicate its content.

  2. a focus on users, including accessibility, user needs, user research, journey mapping and prototyping
  3. producing good digital content, including using plain English and structuring content to make it easy to understand and navigate
  4. improving your content, including managing the content lifecycle, and how to use data to improve and iterate content and influence stakeholders
  5. improving your career, including understanding the different roles within product teams and joining a content community

Course objectives

By the end of the course, the student will have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to do the following:
  1. demonstrate the principal skills and knowledge needed for user-centred content design
  2. apply principles of accessibility to content design
  3. contribute to the content community by sharing your experience and insights
  4. interpret common data measures in order to make content decisions
  5. reflect on your own skills and professional development
