About the course
This course introduces students to the basic components of electronics: diodes, transistors, and op amps. It covers the basic operation and some common applications.
Duration of the course
The total duration of the course is approximately 17 hours.
Course topics
First week:
introduction and review: Learning Objectives: 1. Review syllabus and procedures of this course. 2. Review concepts from linear circuit theory to aid in understanding material covered in this course.
Second week:
Op Amps Part 1: Learning Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of the operational amplifier and its applications. 2. Develop an ability to analyze op amp circuits.
Third week:
Op Amps Part 2: Learning Objectives: 1. Examine additional operational amplifier applications. 2. Examine filter transfer functions.
Fourth week:
Diodes Part 1: Learning Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of the PN junction diode and its behavior. 2. Develop an ability to analyze diode circuits.
Fifth week:
Diodes Part 2: Learning Objectives: 1. Examine additional applications of the diode. 2. Make use of voltage transfer characteristics to analyze diode circuit behavior.
Sixth week:
MOSFETs: Learning Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of the MOSFET and its applications. 2. Develop an ability to analyze MOSFET circuits.
Seventh week:
Bipolar Junction Transistors: Learning Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of the NPN BJT and its applications. 2. Develop an ability to analyze BJT circuits.
Course costs
The student can choose between:
1 Pay $ 49 to purchase the course including: obtaining the approved course completion certificate, which he can share with employers and others, and demonstrate the new skills he has acquired.
2 Or, he can study the course as a listener, including: Providing access to all course materials except those that include setting degrees for them by the lecturers.
